In my last post I wrote about having to consider what verse 3 in Genesis 1 means. I did and also did some research. It turns out there’s a debate as to what the light that God created really is. Some say it’s the sun and others say it’s just light that he created but with no actual source besides himself. Check out the arguments here: http://www.icr.org/article/sunlight-before-sun/ and here https://www.blueletterbible.org/faq/don_stewart/don_stewart_684.cfm
Here’s where I stand on the issue. When making the animation for this verse I will make light appear at first surrounded by darkness and then let that light illuminate the part of the Earth from a distance. After that I’ll have the light reflected on the Earth make it’s way around the Earth to show the difference of night and day. I will not show a sun but it will definitely look like that sun is shining. In summary, I will go for a literal interpretation until God sheds more light on the subject.
My goal is to get that done tonight depending on what my wife considers a “date night”. There might be some grocery shopping in my immediate future.
